The soles are flexible, and it practically felt like I was wearing slippers. I was very happy that the size I ordered fit - I just ordered my normal size. There's a slight amount of extra room but a half size down would have been too small. Thick socks more than make up the difference.I got these to have something comfortable to wear on my motorcycle, and these are perfect for it. They don't cramp my ankle like my Corcoran jump boots do, the straps keep the laces away from moving parts, and the side-zips are heaven sent. I suppose it ought to be mentioned that the boots are slightly more suede-looking than they appear in the picture, or at least more than I expected, but this is not a problem. They are soft and supple leather.
