I've been a half boot with side zippers guy for decades now and these boots fill the need very nicely. They are nice enough for dress boots in most places with shiney uppers and suede around the shank. The bottom has lugs deep enough to provide traction in light to medium duty, but not so deep that your office mates think you just came in from the outback. The boot straps are decorative only - I would have preferred to leave them off and lower the price a couple of bucks. The zippers are smooth as silk with nice larger sized handles on them that are easy to find and grip.

Interestingly, these boots required zero break-in time! I have never owned a pair of boots before that fit perfectly right out of the box.

The price is OK, although for other brands in closeout shops I typically pay around $40 for similar boots.
